Ms. Simach Soth, nick-named Ms. Gecko by her friends, started her wrought iron business in 1997 when she was only 21. She was the only woman in a traditionally male industry.
During a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, she admired the colorful South American style painted geckos for sale in the local markets. On her return to Cambodia, she took inspiration from her travels and developed her own vision of hand crafted iron geckos reflecting Cambodian cultural styles.
Fourteen years later, Magic Gecko has become a family of geckos. The original iron decorated geckos have given birth to silver jeweled geckos, wooden geckos, and carved buffalo horn geckos. Not satisfied, Simach continues to look for other materials to grow her gecko family.

Madame Simach Soth, surnommée “Madame Gecko” par ses amis, a commencé par travailler la ferronnerie en 1997 à l’âge de 21 ans. C’était la seule femme à travailler dans ce domaine réservé aux hommes.
Lors d’un voyage à la Nouvelle Orléans, elle a pu admirer des geckos peints de toutes les couleurs du Sud, à vendre dans les marchés. Dès son retour au Cambodge elle s’inspire de ce qu’elle a vu durant son séjour en Louisiane. Elle commence à développer sa propre vision du travail du fer fait à la main en reprenant le style propre à la culture khmère.
Quatorze ans plus tard, Magic Gecko est devenu une grande famille. Le Gecko d’origine fait en fer a donné naissance à de petits bijoux geckos en argent, en bois et en corne de buffle sculpté. Mais voulant toujours faire plus et mieux, Simach continue à regarder d’autres matériaux pour faire grandir sa famille.
